FAQ
Cleaning and check-up in Dubai: what people ask
What does a cleaning and check-up cost in Dubai?
A scale and polish typically costs AED 200 to 600. A full new-patient visit with examination, X-rays and cleaning runs AED 300 to 800. Unlike most dental treatment, routine cleaning and check-ups are covered by many UAE insurance plans.
How often should I get a professional cleaning?
Every 6 months for most people. Smokers, heavy coffee drinkers and anyone with gum issues benefit from every 3 to 4 months. Beyond 12 months, tartar has usually hardened past what brushing can remove.
Is cleaning the same as whitening?
No. Cleaning removes plaque, tartar and surface stains, which often brightens teeth noticeably, but it does not change the underlying shade. Whitening is a separate chemical treatment.
Does scaling damage enamel?
No. Ultrasonic scalers remove hardened deposits without cutting enamel. Sensitivity for a day or two after a deep cleaning is normal, especially where tartar had covered exposed root surfaces.
